Welcome to my online home. You have reached the website of the geekbuzz. This is the place where I can speak to technology from my experience. I welcome you input and feedback, as one man is only an island. There is no room for islands on the Internet, so please take part. I would even be interested in having contributors to the website and then i will change the format from a personal website to more of a blog.
Anyway, my name is Greg Layman. I am orginally from Evansville, IN. I moved about 10 years ago to the Indianapolis area. Most of my career has been working with systems (Windows, Unix, and Linux) and storage, but I have working knowledge of networking. So I am kinda of a triple threat!
I am a lifelong geek. I feel in love with computing when I was 11 years old, when my friend got a Commodore 64. I talked my parents into buying me one soon afterwards. I graduated to the Amiga for a couple of years and then finally gave into the mainstream with an IBM PC.
I started off with no formal education, as formal education back in my day was years behind the technology. I am self taught and earned my credentials the hard way. I learned it when it was simple and kept up with the complexity. I feel sorry for those who decide to jump in to the industry right now, because to them many things just are (but there is a reason from the past).
I am on all the social networks that I can keep up with. You can contact via the profile icons on the right hand side. I hope you find this site a place of good tech articles, a great laugh from time to time, and something worth bookmarking.
Thanks,
geekbuzz
